Messerole Spritz

Apperitivo Cappelletti, yuzu, sparkling, avocado leaf.

Apperitivo Cappelletti is a bitter aromatized wine from Italy. I love to use it in place of Campari and because it is wine based and only 17% alcohol by volume, perfect for the beer and wine license that we were going to be working with at Acre. I met with David Phillips of Haus Alpenz, the importers of Cappelletti, for an epic tasting of their portfolio full of products that I planned to fill out the bar with.

Located at 64 Messerole Ave, the "Messerole Spritz" was named in homage to Acre's Greenpoint, Brooklyn address.

Recipe

2 oz Avocado leaf soaked Cappelletti

1 1/2 oz yuzu juice

Sparkling Wine

Mineral Water

Instructions:

In a shaker add Cappelletti and yuzu with ice, shake, strain over ice and top half way with sparkling wine (Pet Nat, Prosecco, Champage - they'll all give you interesting profiles - play, IPA or Pale Ale would be delicious too), fill to the top with mineral water. Who doesn't want to have a spritz in hand at all times?
