A Perfect Cup
Sweet Vermouth, Dry Vermouth, Sherry, date syrup, lemon soda, cucumber, herbs
Recipe
.75 oz sweet vermouth
.75 oz dry vermouth
1 barspoon amontillado sherry
.25 oz date syrup
.25 oz lemon juice
Lemon Soda (I used Perrier Limonata)
Mint bundle
Cucumber strips
Garden veg
Instructions:
In a shaker add vermouths, sherry, date syrup and lemon juice, shake briefly and pour over new ice into a bucket glass (a Collins glass is easier) lined with cucumber strips. Cocktail art! Garnish with herbs (smack to activate) and veggies! Sip on a patio somewhere.
In cocktail lingua franca, "perfect" is the indicator for splitting the vermouth into half sweet vermouth and half dry vermouth instead of the full pour of one or the other.
While a "cup" is a vintage genre of cocktail, they are "...compounded drinks (containing multiple ingredients), generally with wine or beer at the base, served at a banquet or feast and decorated with fruit and herbs such as borage and lemon verbena."
